Milford Elks Name Milford’s Promise as Grant Recipient

Milford, CT – September 2, 2014. Milford’s Promise is a recent recipient of The Milford Elks #1589 'Gratitude Grant.' The Milford Elks is a non-profit organization comprised of members dedicated to serving the community, focusing on programs that support and benefit Veterans and youth. Its volunteers help support many other groups and programs throughout Milford such as the Veterans, youth sports leagues, the Beth-EL Shelter, Holiday food baskets, drug awareness, Sea Scouts and Boy Scouts, Milford Safety Day, Jordan's Run, Special Olympics, Boys & Girl's Village, Engine 260 Fire Muster, Children's Medical Center, Milford Animal Shelter and Youth Scholarship Programs.
Milford’s Promise is a local non-profit organization providing programs such as after-school 1-on-1 mentoring, the annual ‘Respect’ month implemented throughout all Milford Schools K-12, and other youth enrichment programs. According to Milford’s Promise President Donna Corey, “We were so pleased to receive this special grant, aligning the Milford Elks as co-sponsors of our 14th Annual Respect Campaign. We look forward to our continuing alliance with this worthwhile and dedicated community organization.”
“We are so proud of Elks Youth Activities Chair Ella Holst, who was key to identifying and facilitating the Grant,” stated Elks Exalted Ruler Bob Magowan. He continues, “Our Gratitude Grant is sponsored by the Connecticut Elks Association with funds that are obtained from the Elks National Foundation.”
